This Tuna is a great fish to hook up on. Strong and a determined fighter. They take flies readily and we often catch them. They hit hard and pull harder. Great for light gear.
Sierra Mackerel (Spanish Mackerel)
Known locally as Spanish Mackerel, we find these fish often while fly fishing, and they put up a good fight. You'll need some wire for these toothy carnivores - and lots of bait fish flies.
King Mackerel (Kingfish)
These giant Mackerels are an amazing fight! They are aggressive and not shy of attacking anything they think they can get a bite out of. Including each other. We don't see too many of these on the fly, but they are around.
Sailfish
This may be the fastest fish in the world, known to hit speeds of up to 112 km/h (70mph) The Sailfish is a local treasure. You have to tease them in to catch them with a fly, very exciting when it happens. We don't run into them often, but when they show up it's pure fishing bliss!
