Ocean Triggerfish

We see Triggers feeding on the flats around rocks and coral quite often. They will take a fly but like to feed on the pause so are a tough set. They are hard fighters if they have enough water, and they have an incredible bite - actually biting through some hook shanks.

Blue Runner

One of the most active fishing adventures around, the Blue Runner will have you sprinting down the beach and have your heart pumping. These fish are around more often than not. The tides determine if they come into casting range of the beach or not. Time it right and you will be running after aggressive schools of fish that will hit anything that gets into their feeding frenzy. They are a good fighting fish for light tackle but usually only get to about 2lbs around the island, although they grow to over 10lbs. They will test your speed on sand at a very minimum!

Jack Crevalle

Also known as the bulldog of the sea. This is a tough fish with a bad attitude. I wish we see them more often. They come in along with the Blue Runners at times, but are hard to get into, because a Runner almost always bites first. But when you get one, you know it! They can get deep into your backing. *We also find these on our blue water trips
